About the Equipment

A fume hood allows students to gain hands-on experience in safely handling hazardous chemicals and volatile substances. Students learn the principles of proper ventilation, chemical containment, and personal protection while conducting experiments that involve toxic, flammable, or noxious materials.

Through guided practice, they develop skills in setting up apparatus, handling reactive compounds, and maintaining a contaminant-free workspace. This training is essential for engineering students, ensuring safe and effective techniques for working with hazardous materials in research and industry settings.
