

This lab experiment demonstrates the operation of a standard vapor-compression refrigeration cycle using R-134a as the working fluid. The system includes key components such as a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and an evaporator with an integrated heater. By adjusting the heating power at three different levels, students observe the impact on system behavior and gain a deeper understanding of phase changes, energy transfer, and pressure-temperature relationships within a refrigeration cycle.
