My name is Kalem (Kay-lem) Lalonde and I am an English teacher with a wide range of interests in the arts and humanities. As a teacher, I believe that literary education must evolve with the ways that the general public interacts with storytelling. This means tapping into the vast well of storytelling mediums that have emerged in the 20th and 21 centuries; cinema, television, comic books, and even video games. My class will be a place where students are given the opportunity to bring their interests into the classroom by focusing on independent research projects that encourage the study of traditional classic literature, Indigenous storytelling, and emerging interactive video game narratives.
In addition to being a humanities educator, I am a lifelong guitar player and avid powerlifter with great ambitions of participating in music and lifting clubs at my future schools!
