This experiment explores how pressure drops occur in fluid systems due to pipe friction and fittings. The setup features a closed-loop water circuit with pipes of varying diameters, roughness, and configurations (elbows, valves, contractions). Pressure is measured across components using taps connected to manometers or sensors. Flow meters like Venturi and Pitot tubes allow analysis of flow behavior and comparison with theoretical models.
The lab helps students understand major and minor losses, and apply key fluid mechanics principles to real-world systems.
