Regulatory systems in animals. Physiological adjustments to environmental changes. Thermoregulation, osmoregulation and excretion, acid-base balance, respiration and circulation.
Lecture
Prerequisite: BIO 1141
The influence of environment and phylogeny on physiological processes at the cellular, tissue and organismal levels. Emphasis will be placed on animal responses and adaptations to key environmental factors such as temperature, oxygen, carbon dioxide, pH and solutes.
Lecture
