
Immigration diversity and public policy
The intent of this course is to study issues of immigration and diversity with an emphasis on public policy. Topics covered include the impact of immigration on Canada’s population and economy, diversity and conceptions of citizenship in Canada, the United States and the European Union, and attitudes towards immigration and diversity, including discrimination.

Quantitative Research Methods for Public Policy
The goal of this course is to develop an understanding of quantitative research methods used for the development and assessment of public policy. Methods covered include simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, and factor analysis.

Urban Sociology
The intent of this course is to examine issues related to urban life, primarily in Canada. Through a series of lectures and discussions, students will build an understanding of urbanization and its impact on citizens. Students will:
1. Assess theories and concepts associated with urban sociology and develop a familiarity with the core literature within the sub-discipline.
2. Develop an understanding of urbanization processes (e.g., historical trends, ecological distributions, interaction patterns).
