What is Mental Health?

Mental health is more than the absence of mental disorders; it is a state of well-being that allows an individual to cope with the stresses of everyday life. The state of an individual’s mental health determines the types of decisions one makes, and shapes the relationships they build. When a person experiences significant distress, their mental health is affected leading to the development of mental health conditions or psychosocial disabilities.
