Welcome!

I am a Senior Biostatistician at Health Canada and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa. My research focuses on developing statistical and computational methods for complex, high-dimensional data, with applications in genomics, bioinformatics, biomedical research, and public health.

My methodological interests include Bayesian and empirical-Bayes inference, high-dimensional statistics, mixture and latent-variable models, computational statistics, and statistical learning. I am particularly interested in problems involving hidden biological structure and heterogeneity, including genomic association studies, next-generation sequencing, cell-type decomposition, and microbial strain mixture identification.

I also develop reproducible and open-source statistical software and enjoy collaborating across disciplines to translate methodological research into practical tools. In addition, I am actively involved in mentoring students and research trainees and in communicating statistical ideas to both technical and interdisciplinary audiences.
