The HIV/AIDS pandemic was a major health crisis at the end of the 20th century. Such a defining moment in the history of health-related infections led to transformations in its proponents, as well as their nursing practice. This research project, using a qualitative methodology and unstructured interviews (a conversation) with Canadian gay (male) nurses, aims to offer insights into their lived journeys while caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS, from 1981 to 1998, before the advent of antiretroviral medication; where ever in Canada such care took place.
