My name is Peter Tran, and I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, I attended St. Peter Catholic High School before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics at Carleton University. During my undergraduate studies, I envisioned a career in politics, motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact and represent the interests of everyday Canadians. However, during my summers, I worked as a camp counselor and camp director for City of Ottawa summer camps, where I discovered a deep passion for working with children. This experience led me to realize that making a difference doesn’t always have to take the form of political action; it can also be found in the everyday interactions we have with others, especially in the classroom. These revelations ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in education.
In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I have a variety of personal interests. One of my greatest passions is weightlifting. I find that it not only keeps me physically healthy but also helps me build mental resilience, pushing me to continually improve. I also enjoy cooking and baking, spending time with my dog Maya, and watching UFC events.
I look forward to continuing my journey in education and contributing to the growth and development of the next generation.
