Biography

Jaclyn Enchin is currently student teaching Math and English to grade 7 and 8 students at Henry Larsen Elementary School in Orleans, Ottawa. Jaclyn brings professional knowledge and skills to her teaching in the field of writing, media production, theatre, and English.

She is always keeping up to date with current educational research, pedagogical methods, diversity, equity and inclusion practices, and curriculum and applies this professional knowledge to her ongoing teaching practice.

In the past, she was a published playwright with work regularly performed in the U.S. She has experience directing theatre for community groups that consisted of young adults and teens.

In addition to teaching, Jaclyn is a foodie, passionate about cooking and trying new foods, singing, and dancing ballroom styles. She loves sharing her curious spirit, and enthusiastic attitude with both students and teachers.

 

Teaching Methods

Jaclyn teaches with inclusive, anti-bias methodologies in mind with a focus on collaborative projects, highlighting the importance of working as a team as well as independently.

  • Support the learning process of adult ESL students.
  • Plan lessons, teach students through an online portal.
  • Work towards specific goals and needs of the students, provide feedback, and conduct assessments when needed.

  • Taught 2 English units; planned lessons, created quizzes, rubrics, and other assessment tools.
  • Supervise students at lunch, and during school events and assemblies.
  • Support students learning one-on-one and in small groups.
