uOttawa International Computational Neuroscience Summer School
This two-week school was held eight times in June, funded in part by uOttawa as well as MITACS, the Fields Institute, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council through a CREATE grant, and CIHR through a Neurophysics grant. Below you will find the syllabus and group photos from the different schools.
A key feature of our school was the consistent presence of a core group of lecturers that were fully aware of the teaching materials of the other lecturers. They morning lectures were followed by afternoon computer labs that were done in teams consisting of a student or postdoc from the physical sciences paired up with one from the life sciences. Also, the course required a term project that was presented to the whole group.
A distinct feature of our international school is the possibility to take the course for formal credits as a uOttawa graduate course.
There may be future events of this type - stay tuned. We also have CNDAI Research Days for the local community.
