Welcome to my Digital Hub. My name is Zova Ayman. I am a first-year teacher candidate currently enrolled in the Teacher’s Education at the University of Ottawa. I graduated from uOttawa in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology.
My teaching strategies include critical thinking, creativity, motivation, differentiated learning, culturally responsive teaching to create an inclusive classroom, real-world application, hands-on activities, scaffolding until students develop new concepts/skills/confidence, and gradual release as they gain independence.
I believe that education is a transformative journey that empowers students to become independent learners, explore, question, and create new ideas. Every child deserves a learning environment that nurtures curiosity, fosters resilience, and celebrates diversity & inclusivity. Every child has unique strengths, interests, and needs that shape the educational experience. By fostering a growth mindset, I aim to inspire students to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and develop a lifelong love for learning.
I believe that relationships are the foundation of effective teaching. A classroom should be a community built on respect, trust, kindness, and collaboration. I strive to create an inclusive space where all learners feel seen, heard, and valued. I acknowledge that teachers are lifelong learners. Reflecting on my practice, seeking professional growth, and adapting to new educational insights will enable me to best support my students.
Ultimately, my philosophy of teaching is fostering not just academic success, but also empathy, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging in every learner.
